You need to test changing time on a VirtualBox.

for example, you are testing shifts or counts and are going back and forth in time changing the system clock which is used
by the Ignition Gateway.

The problem with VirtualBox is that, by design, the Virtual Machine clock is synchronized with the clock of the System on which it is
running, so you will see that even though you have set off the Automatic Synchronization

the clock changes to the desired time only so briefly before .. shifting back to the current time (or to be exact the current time on your Desktop)

Step-by-step guide

  1. The Time Setting still need to be changed as above
  2. Get the Name of your Virtual Machine from VirtualBox Settings (of the Virtual Machine)

  3. on your Desktop use the following command
VBoxManage setextradata "VM name" "VBoxInternal/Devices/VMMDev/0/Config/GetHostTimeDisabled" 1
    for the above VM
    VBoxManage setextradata "W IA 7910 MES 293-7 Support V2 MySQL 8" "VBoxInternal/Devices/VMMDev/0/Config/GetHostTimeDisabled" 1
you may have to add the VBoxManage path to the env path on your Desktop

Now you can use
