MES 3.0

The following OEE Practical Tutorial is comprised of three sections:

  • GUI-Driven Approach — This approach relies on the visual nature (the Graphical User Interface) of the MES and Ignition components. MES Objects and shift schedules are created manually during run-time, rather than via scripting.

  • Schedule-Driven Approach — This approach captures the use case of handling production via a schedule.

  • Script-Driven Approach — Python scripting may be utilized to create materials and manage execution without requiring GUI touch points. This tutorial section goes into detail on scripting for these tasks.

Each section is independent and contains its own setup and configuration pages, allowing students to train only on the sections they choose, without being required to perform prerequisite tasks from other sections (after initial Ignition and database installation/configuration).
